Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty or nose job is one of the most popular and intricate cosmetic procedures to date. Rhinoplasty is performed mostly for aesthetic reasons but also done to correct birth defects and breathing problems. Your surgeon can modify the tip or bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils, and change the size of your nose and the angle between your nose and upper lip. It is important to tell your doctor if you’ve had a previous nose job, breathing problems or nose injuries. A secondary rhinoplasty is often said to be extremely difficult because the nasal framework has been destroyed from previous surgery.
There are two different approaches to the nose; open approach and closed approach. The open approach is an incision made across the columella (the skin that separates the nostrils); this method is preferred for complicated cases such as tip work. In a closed rhinoplasty the incisions are made inside the nostrils this approach is used for less complicated cases such a bump removals.
